Authority Over Sin: Matthew 9:1-8
In this story, we see Jesus demonstrate authority of the ultimate spiritual kind; the power to forgive people's sins. This massive show of Christ's divine power is challenged only by the arrogant and the sinful elites, who then are confronted with the most impossible of healing. The God who can make a paralyzed man walk most certainly has all authority to forgive the sins of man.
